2023 Rancho Boa Vista Vineyard Syrah
100% Syrah
Blackberry, plum, blackcurrant and kirsch with a blueberry top note, framed by clove, peppered meats and a mineral core of graphite, iron and wet stone. Deep and full-bodied on the palate — savory, chalky-tannins, well structured, with ripe expressive fruit through a rounded, lengthy finish.
Raised 26 months in 30% new French oak (Billon)

Winemaker Notes
This is only the second single-vineyard Syrah we have made from Rancho Boa Vista. The 2021 was awarded 97 points and remains an exceptional wine, but I believe 2023 takes a step up, thanks in large part to the growing conditions the year presented. This is everything I love about Syrah: deep, dark, rich fruit, earthy minerality, savory undertones, and a depth only Syrah achieves. I am very proud to share this wine, and I cannot wait to follow its evolution over the coming years.
