Winemaker Notes

2023 was an exceptional year for our Rhône white varieties. A long, cool, even growing season gave us extended hang time, bringing full ripeness while holding onto plenty of acidity. This is the first vintage of Mélange Blanc to include Chardonnay. After many blending trials, I wanted to lean into the freshness and mouthwatering acidity the Rhône varieties were already offering, and the Chardonnay only added structure and complexity. This is the most balanced, fresh and acid-driven iteration of the Mélange Blanc to date — very drinkable now, though I am excited to see it with some years of age.
