2023 Christy and Wise Vineyard Grenache
90% Grenache, 10% Roussanne
Framboise, sweet raspberry and Bing cherry give way to black cherry, cola and licorice, with peppery garrigue and cacao underneath. Ripe and fresh on the palate, full-bodied and textured, structured by grainy tannin, with red fruit and spice stretching across a long finish.

Winemaker Notes
We have not produced a single-vineyard Grenache since our inaugural 2018 vintage. I have been waiting for the right one, and Christy and Wise ended the wait. This cool-climate Sta. Rita Hills site is always low yielding, and 2023 was no exception: small clusters of rich, concentrated, beautiful fruit. The extended hang time allowed for full ripeness while maintaining beautifully balanced acidity. A small addition of Roussanne softened the edgier tannins and gave the aromatics a pick-me-up. This is a powerful yet elegant expression of Grenache, one not to be taken lightly, and I am thrilled to introduce it.
